Letter to R.H. Norris, 1863 Aug. 22.

The collection consists of a letter from Alexander H. Stephens to Captain R.H. Norris of Company J of the 1st Georgia State Troops stationed at Resaca, Georgia, dated August 22, 1863. Stephens writes asking for leniency toward Columbus Rees a soldier in Norris' company absent without leave. Stephens states Rees had not deserted but rather came to Stephens to ask for a transfer to a cavalry company.
